Catherine Jo Dillingham
Sep 27, 1954 – Aug 4, 2022

Catherine Jo Dillingham died suddenly of a heart attack on August 4, 2022 at the age of 67 years old. She was born in San Bernardino, California on September 27, 1954. Catherine spent her Childhood in Fontana, California active in 4H and FFA. She relocated to the High Desert where she met her husband Robert and raised her children Betsy and Reece. Cathy has been active in the Apple Valley Senior Center Club, she loved to play bingo and go on Cruises with her friends.
Catherine is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) Santos/ Joe Santos, son Reece Dillingham, granddaughters Hayleigh Santos and Aurora Santos, grandson Joaquin Santos, sister Susan York/ JR York, sister-in-law Sandy Jenkins, nephews Joseph Harper, Charles Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, and lots of friends that have became like family to her.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Robert Dillingham, parents Charles William Jenkins and Betty Jo Jenkins, brothers Charles Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, William Scott Jenkins.

Barstow Loses a True Hometown Hero

Leo Griego 2-23-1947 – 7-22-2022

The Barstow Fire District would like to send our sincere condolences to the Family of Barstow Police Detective Leo Griego (Ret). Leo passed away this morning after a courageous battle. Leo, a 47 year veteran of Barstow Barstow PD was surrounded by his immediate family at the time of his passing.

Leo is a Veteran of the United States Army. He served one tour in Vietnam where is received a Bronze star, gallantry cross, army commendation medal, national defense service medal, Parachute badge, Vietnam service medal, Vietnam campaign medal, and his combat infantryman badge.

Leo is survived by is wife of 48 years Irma, and his 4 sons Rueben, David, Stephen and Daniel and their families! Leo youngest son Daniel is a former firefighter/paramedic with BFD.

Leo was always a constant professional, dedicated to making our City a safer place. Most importantly he was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He will forever remain in our hearts and will always be a True Barstow Hometown Hero!!!!!

He is gone, but will never be forgotten!!!!!!!

We are saddened to announce the loss of a Great Husband, Father, Friend and Fireman!

Today we lost one of our retired firemen Pete Beltz . He had a long Battle with that rotten disease Cancer! Pete was one of the original Firefighter Paramedics in the mid 1970’s. He spent over 15 years providing services to our city.

Pete was a tremendous member of the the Barstow fire Department and the community. His career Spans several decades with several rescues including a metal of Valor for rescuing two young children from an early morning structure fire with no handlines in place .

Pete was truly one of a kind! May he rest in the arms of our Heavenly Father! Thank you for your service, and may you Rest In Peace! You may be gone but you will never be forgotten!!!!

A True Hero!!!!!
